Caleb – “Live until you die.”

Getting up to speed:

Joshua 12: On the east of the Jordan river under the leadership of Moses, Israel… “31…East side king-0.

Joshua 13: Talk of lands still to conquer and talk of the division of land that was theirs on the East side of the Jordan River.

Points of Interest: Joshua 14

Hebron was 3,000 feet above sea level, about 20 miles south of Jerusalem. It was heavily wooded back then and beautiful. This was where Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Rebecca, and Leah were buried. It was where Abram went when he and Lot split up.

Caleb was not a Jew. Either his mother was Jewish and she married a Kenizzite, or his family converted to Judaism sometime in the past.

At the time of our passage, Caleb was the head of the tribe of Judah (Numbers 34:19).
